Our PIRS audio racks are made with the same care and attention as all our audio accessories. We have three models; the PIRS 39” tall unit with five isolated trays, the PIRS-30” low unit which is a side-by-side configuration which has six trays, and our new PIRS-21” which is a low single wide design with three trays. Each configuration incorporates fixed bottom trays which are isolated with rubber bushings as per the hand sketch.

The structural profiles are fabricated of solid maple with a front profile of 2-5/8” wide
and a return of 2-3/8”, and the uprights on the front face incorporate a beveled profile that channels airborne vibration away from both the structure and the equipment inside.

The front opening of the rack is 19-1/4” wide to accept larger equipment or components that were designed to be commercially rack mounted.

The PIRS racks are also designed to accept the GP3 or GP2 isolation platforms in place of the top tray. Several of our customers have chosen this upgrade solution to enhance the performance and sound quality of their turntables, CD players, tube amps, etc.

Our hardwood of choice is maple for all the same reasons identified in the description of our GP [Great Plains] platforms. As illustrated in that description, it is available in multiple maple species or in a semi-opaque black stain. We can also custom fabricate in other types of woods but restrict ourselves to diffuse porous species for performance reasons.

The aluminum channel can be provided in a satin clear brushed finish or in a satin black powder-coated finish, and the hardware is finished to suit the aluminum channels.

All our alloy is CNC machined to provide maximum accuracy, which is crucial in achieving our tolerances and the exact shelf spacing at 1-1/2” increments.

Our GP-T equipment trays leverage the same construction principles as our GP3 & GP2 platforms. These trays are laminated 1-3/8” thick maple cartridges with enclosed side rails and a large, beveled lead edge. We also use the same style of rubber conical feet as our larger isolation platforms.

Another feature of our PIRS racks is our adjustable cable management rails. These adjustable rails are secured to the back of two of the shelves to help manage the visual chaos but more importantly, keep power cables away from interconnect and speaker cables.

The PIRS Rack trays incorporate oversized adjustable conical rubber feet, which are similar to our highly effective GP3 Isolation platforms.
