DERRICK’S STEREO STAND – #CS-001-20
The ‘ASK’
After many years of transitional pieces and thinking about what we wanted, Derrick finally designed this beautiful mobile stereo stand for our living room.
It was designed around his beloved Revox components and also incorporated some of the newer pieces. It has room to store LPs and CDs, as well as some of our prototype isolation platforms to maximize the isolation for key components, because our home was built in 1948, and it also has alot of bounce in the floors!
It’s primary purpose was to eliminate clutter & embrace the aesthetic of the home. We used a combination of walnut, hardwood maple and roasted maple to fit in with our existing eclectic style. All the wood is finshed with Danish Oil to enhance the wood grain and leaves a light satin finish. We added steel rails to add structural support, aluminum accents for style, and the locking castors are hidden in the bottom shelf.
The unit measures 63”W x 22”D x 32 1/2”H, and weighs approximately 230 lbs. The walnut top shelf has long bevels top and bottom, giving it an elegant edge profile. The drawer faces are made from one piece of walnut with an continuous aluminum pull on the bottom. We lost some LP space when we added the integrated amp and power conditioner, which created the need for a second matching unit…but that’s another story!
We love everything about this unit, and the only regret would be not making it bigger. There never does seem to be enough storage.

TESTIMONIAL
Since we made this unit for ourselves, all we can say is that we still love it, and it’s always a topic of conversation. The walnut top shelf is stunning, the unit does it’s job very well and it still looks great!
