TOUGH NUT’S 3 ”D” APPROACH – disrupt, deflect & dissipate

The WHAT

At Tough Nut, all our products, but especially our Isolation Platforms are designed to incorporate our 3 ”D” principles; disrupt the transference of seismic energy, deflect and shield against airborne vibration, and to draw down and dissipate unwanted component energy into our constraining plate and insulative layers below.

The results of this three-pronged defence are a lowered noise floor, an expanded sound stage in depth and width, and enhanced imaging and clarity.

The HOW

The creation of our products is an exercise in logical sequencing and practical applications, that will dramatically improve your listening experience. Our attention to detail and fabrication is exemplary, and our products are hand-made in Canada.

Our GP Series Isolation Platforms incorporate EPDM synthetic rubber feet and large isolated stainless-steel barrels that disrupt seismic vibration prior to it entering the platform.

The platform’s mass is constructed of Canadian maple hardwood which is a diffuse porous wood that absorbs less vibration. The beveled surfaces deflect and drive energy away from the audio component.

The internal layers of vibration control serve different functions but work as a collective to both disrupt upward seismic vibration, as well as dissipate downward energy from the component.

Our design efforts continue to exceed our expectations. And since our company ethos is that “ We are on a quest for less”… less vibration, and less restricted reproduction of music, we intend to improve your listening experience!
